Grant Overview
Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) has received a generous donation from the Slaight Foundation to specifically support emergency food purchasing for food access programs. This application is now open to our Good Food Organizations (GFO) and Indigenous Network. Grantees will receive a one time gift to be spent on purchasing essential food and nourishment their community members. We have $625,000 to award to Good Food Organizations. CFCC will provide grant amounts in the following categories, $5,000 and $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Preference will be given to organizations that showcase the capacity to effectively implement their proposed plan, demonstrate alignment with their budget, and articulate how the funds will make a significant impact on their community.
To be eligible for this grant, applications must meet all of the following criteria:
Organizations must be a member of CFCC’s Good Food Organization program and/or be part of the Indigenous Network.
Organizations must be a legal entity in Canada.
Organizations must be a charitable organization or have a registered trustee (if required by the organization as a standard procedure).
Funds must be used exclusively for food costs associated with emergency food programming.
All awarded funds should be used within a 3 month period from the time received.
Application Timelines
The application window will be for two weeks, allowing for the funds to be disbursed quickly to those in need during these challenging times.

Notification of Grant Recipients: Friday, February 23, 2024
All grant recipients will be issued a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). If awarded, grantees will have 3 months to spend their allocation.
